Blake Turns Back Sox

Score: Indians 10 White Sox 8

Turning Point: Casey Blake hit a 3 run double off the top of the left field wall with bases loaded and 2 outs in the bottom of the eighth. Blake lined Octavio Dotel's pitch out of a 1-2 count

Analysis: The Indians were able to score runs when they needed too. The Tribe tacked up a 7 spot in the second inning. Then they added the 3 runs in the bottom of the eighth. CC Sabathia went 5 1/3 innings striking out seven, but he also gave up five runs, 4 of which were the result of Thome homeruns.

MVP: Rafael Betancourt

Betancourt was able to work the Tribe out of a bases loaded jam with no outs in the top of the eighth. After giving up back to back doubles, Betancourt was able to get a force out ground out at the plate. Then he was able to get Thome to ground into a double play, which was the result of the interference call on Orlando Cabrera

Next: These two teams meet again at 7:05 at Progressive Field. Fausto Carmona will start for the Indians while Javier Vazquez takes the mound for the White Sox.
